The Origin of Tea Tree

On his first voyage to Australia, Captain James Cook, of the British ship H.M.S. Endeavor, landed at Botany Bay, Australia – near where Sydney is now. During this trek, he and his crew noticed the massive groves of trees thick with sticky, aromatic leaves. The local Australian natives told him about the therapeutic powers of these trees and taught him to make a sharp-tasting tea from tea tree leaves which he later used in brewing beer. The leaves of the Tea Tree have been used for many years to treat a myriad of conditions.
